Using a combination of audiovisual presentation and group discussion, this session will introduce participants to two series of bande dessinée: Couleur de Peau: Miel by Belgian graphic novelist Jung Henin, and L’Adoption by French artists Zidou and Monin. The session will explore the art of bande dessinée, international adoption as a unique form of cultural immersion, and the ways in which this knowledge might inform our classes.
