The presenter will use this session to refresh French teachers’ pronunciation skills while giving them tools to draw their students’ attention to the importance of intelligibility. We will focus on the following pronunciation topics, often challenging but important for successful communication: /u/ vs. /y/ as in “dessous” vs. “dessus”, , nasal vowels, and syllabic equality. We will share pronunciation tips, then practice and play through activities framed by the ACTFL oral proficiency guidelines.
