Global competence and global engagement are essential to promote intercultural exchange, social justice and environmental sustainability in our increasingly interconnected world. The world language classroom, notably French, is primely positioned to serve as a gateway to global competence. The presenter will explore the concept of global competence and its integration in language study from grades 6-12. It will present not only a theoretical framework but concrete examples of lessons and projects that facilitate global engagement.
