Editions Tintamarre Centenary College of Louisiana
My field is the French language literatures of Louisiana I am also the General Editor of Les Éditions Tintamarre and serve on the board of the state agency CODOFIL (Council for the Development of French in Louisiana) where I chair the selection committee that created and chooses the state Poète Lauréat de la Louisiane Française. In general, I know what has been written in Louisiana and where to find it, although children's books are not my strong point. I would welcome questions about literature written/being written by Creoles of Color, Cajun writers, or by French-speaking First Nation peoples of Louisiana. Questions concerning LGBTQ issues or gender studies are also welcome. Finally, Those interested in the written heritage of French in Louisiana should visit the site:
http://french.centenary.edu/anthov8.pdf.
This online library contains nearly 36,000 pages of Louisiana poetry, theater, and prose in French and Louisiana Creole. I would be happy to answer questions about these works or give suggestions for titles that correspond to attendees specific interests. For those new to Louisiana literature, here is a syllabus that contains links to poems/stories that are well-received by students:
